How It Works

Assessing Your Technology Estate

Each audit provides a detailed review of the technology, services, infrastructure and contracts already in place across your school or Multi Academy Trust. We assess performance, costs, contractual commitments, risks, and how your current environment aligns with operational needs and relevant standards.

We do the detailed investigation on your behalf. We will collect and review copies of your contracts, invoices and relevant documentation. There is no requirement for in-house technical expertise - we analyse the information, identify areas for improvement, and provide a clear written report outlining findings, risks, potential savings, and practical next steps to help optimise your technology investment.

Do you sell any technology products or services?

No. We don’t sell any technology products and we’re not tied to any suppliers or manufacturers. Our only role is to give you independent advice based on what’s best for your school.

How do I know which audit I need?

It depends on what you want to review. If you’re not sure where to start, the Technology Audit covers the broadest ground – telecoms, broadband, IT and costs, as well as a benchmarking check against the DfE Digital Technology Standards. If you already know which area you want to look at, our individual audit pages will give you a clearer picture.

What do I need to provide for an audit?

The information required will depend on the type of audit being carried out. Before the audit begins, we will provide a clear list of the documents and information needed so your school or Multi Academy Trust is fully prepared. This may include items such as contracts, invoices, service agreements, or access to relevant systems and infrastructure information.

How long does an audit take?

It varies depending on the type of audit and how quickly we receive the information we need from you. We’ll give you a clear timeline once we know what’s involved.

What do I get at the end?

A written report covering everything we reviewed. This includes our findings, where you’re meeting the DfE standards, where there are gaps, and where there may be savings to be made. Where relevant, we’ll include recommended next steps.

What if I'm tied into existing contracts?

We’ll flag it in the report and note when those contracts are due for renewal. In some cases there are still options — such as renegotiating terms — but where that’s not possible, we’ll agree a timeline to revisit things when you’re in a better position to act.

Is this suitable for Multi-Academy Trusts as well as individual schools?

Yes. Our audit services are suitable for both individual schools and Multi Academy Trusts. For MATs managing multiple schools and sites, we can assess technology provision, contracts and costs across the trust, helping identify opportunities for greater consistency, improved efficiency, cost savings and strategic alignment.
